Abstract: The digitalisation and intelligence of solid waste management is a concrete embodiment of the development of new quality productivity. Based on the bibliometric analysis method, this paper takes the application results of blockchain technology in solid waste management in the Web of Science core collection database as a sample, and conducts a visual analysis from the aspects of the number of publications, the country of publications, the institutions that publish the documents, and the co-occurrence of keywords with the help of CiteSpace software, aiming to explore the evolution characteristics and development trends of this research field. The results show that from 2018 to 2023,the number of papers published in this field shows an increasing trend, mainly published in computer and environmental journals, represented by Sustainability, IEEE Access, Journal of Cleaner Production, etc. The application of blockchain technology in municipal solid waste management is mainly reflected in two aspects: data quality assurance and data-driven optimisation, which can improve the transparency, sharing and traceability of the whole process of solid waste management through the coordination of consensus mechanism, traceability mechanism and contract mechanism. Promoting the integration of blockchain technology with innovative technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data and artificial intelligence is the follow-up research direction of intelligent solid waste management.
