The clinical application research of artificial intelligence has been developed rapidly in recent years and is expected to produce a subversive breakthrough for disease elimination and health promotion. This review briefly introduces the status quo of artificial intelligence clinical application research in China, including strategic layout, research and development strength, production innovation, and clinical application.  The study found that the research and development strength of this area in China had improved markedly. The number of patent applications had increased to 2484 items in 2021 from 137 items in 2011. The number of published patents had increased to 2909 items from 26 items in 2011. Both of them increased markedly and ranked 1st in the world. The number of papers published had increased markedly to 4597, ranking 2nd in 2021 from 43 in 2011. Meanwhile, product innovation has been accelerating from research to application. On the other hand, there are also some problems: lack of significant original innovation achievements, core technologies, and key equipment; insufficient clinical orientation of product research and development; limited clinical application scenarios; poor quality of medical data, imperfection of data Standard and sharing mechanism; the imperfection of evaluation and supervision system. Based on the above, we put forward four suggestions: strengthening top-level design and coordinating the layout of the National Science and Technology Plan System; regularizing data standards, developing new forms of medical data-sharing; improving the system of laws and regulations, enhancing the level of assessment and supervision; strengthening the cultivation of talents, especially creating multidisciplinary artificial intelligence talent teams.

Artificial intelligence is an important force driving economic and social development, with great application value, and is a strategic area in which countries are competing for layout. The purpose of this paper is to make a detailed comparison between the current development status of AI in China and the United States from both macro and micro perspectives, to analyze the advantages and shortcomings of each, and to make effective suggestions for the development of AI in China. From the macro perspective, the policy strategies of AI in China and the U S are sorted out and analyzed, and the development plans at the national level in both countries are compared. From the microperspective, we compare the specific development status of AI in China and the United States from six dimensions: research situation, industrial development, talent, hardware foundation, market application, datascale, as well as the competitive advantages of each. The study found that the U.S. currently still maintains the overall leading position in the development of AI in the world, especially in terms of high-quality R&D, high-quality talents, AI chips, and financing environment with considerable advantages. China far exceeds the U. S. intotal R&D, and performs much better in the number of supercomputers, AI applications, data, etc. In the future, China should continue to attract high-caliber talent from around the world and develop incentive initiatives to encourage researchers to conduct high-quality research. In addition, it should build bridges between universities, research institutions and enterprises to strengthen in-depth communication and cooperation among the three and accelerate breakthroughs in keyareas.

The integration and innovation of the fifth generation mobile communication technology (5G) and artificial intelligence (AI) has become an inevitable trend. According to 1772 research papers retrieved from CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure), this paper uses bibliometric method and CiteSpace software to draw knowledge maps to systematically analyze the research trends of Chinese scholars on the integration and development of 5G and AI. It is found that domestic relevant publications have maintained a growing trend since 2015, and research activities have gone through three stages of development: "emerging", "rapid evolution" and "deepening application". Related publications are generated from not only  research institutions of science and technology, but also institutions of social science, media, and business. Related papers can be classified into 11 research directions under three perspective of technology, application and major events. In addition, most institutions conduct research independently without cooperation, while many small and medium-sized cooperation networks have been established among scholars. Based on the analysis, this paper puts forward three suggestions.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency occupies a leading position in creatively cultivating artificial intelligence technology. The development of data intelligence promotes the change of operational theory and the intellectualization of equipment, which brings opportunities and challenges to national security governance. This paper discusses the conceptual relationship among data intelligence, data science, artificial intelligence and related strategic planning, analyzes ten typical national defense pre-research projects in data intelligence, and summarizes the development characteristics and trends of defense pre-research from the perspectives of enabling technology, knowledge reasoning, adaptive algorithm and man-machine symbiosis. In the new era of transformation and upgrading of national defense industry, China should focus on solving the bottleneck problems of basic research in data intelligence and strive to be at the forefront of theory studies, accelerate the research of common technology in data intelligence to ensure complete autonomy and controllability, and design the application scenarios of data intelligence achievements and create new national defense capabilities.

As an important branch of artificial intelligence, the face recognition technology, relying on massive biological data information, has been widely used in smart transportation, internet finance, public security and other fields. The patent analysis in the field of face recognition technology can provide important guidelines for the research and development (R&D) of related industries in China. The technology life cycle theory and the Logistic model are applied to predict the development stage of face recognition technology. It is found that the current face recognition technology is in the growing stage of technology development. Using the incoPat, this paper mainly analyzes the perspectives of geographical distribution, participants, and technical fields. It is found that the global face recognition patents are currently in a continuous growing stage; China, the United States and South Korea have a large number of patents in the world; the current R&D hotspot is face data representation. In the future, China should be guided by the strategic face recognition industry development plan, strive to promote the R&D in key technology fields of face recognition, improve the R&D participant system of face recognition industry, and innovate the application scenarios of face recognition technology.
